Anton Gaylard is the co-founder, director and chief exponential officer of Crossfin Holdings, shares fintech business basics that are essential to any would-be fintech entrepreneur.

Anton Gaylard cut his sales, retail and tech solutions teeth in the early 1990s when he sold point-of-sale solutions to stores. After seven years with Retail Automation, his career took him from MWeb Business where he started and managed the Application Services Division, to the Platinum Group as its COO, responsible for 56 fashion retail outlets. In 2009, Anton joined the UCS Group, now renamed Capital Eye Investments, and was primarily responsible for the company’s fintech portfolio.

Taking the entrepreneurship leap, Anton co-founded Crossfin Holdings with the objective to invest in fintech solutions that enable growth for economies in Africa and beyond. Well-known fintechs that benefitted from Crossfin and Anton’s expertise include iKhokha, wiGroup/Yoyo, trueID humble Till, and Retail Capital.

Anton graduated from the University of Cape Town with a Bachelor of Business Science degree (BBusSc), majoring in marketing and economics (Hons).
